What Is Sensory Play?

Sensory play builds important nerve connections in the brain. Any activity that stimulates a child's senses (touch, smell, taste, sight and hearing) is considered sensory play. Engaging in sensory play aides in the development of fine motor skills and has been proven to promote language development. Through sensory play, children will naturally practice scientific processes by creating and discovering new sensations.
